Designed and crafted in Kansas City. Same family. Same bench. Since 1987.
Most rings sold today were made in three days by a machine in a warehouse, set with stones pulled from a drawer by someone who has never met you, shipped from a city none of us have been to. There is nothing wrong with those rings. There is nothing like them, either.
A Vinca piece is designed and crafted in-house, by hand, by the same family that opened this workshop in 1987. Simon started it. Christian — who began melting gold beside his father at thirteen — runs the bench today. Every gemstone is chosen by hand. Every diamond is GIA-certified. Every piece passes through people who have known each other their whole lives. This isn't a marketing claim. It's a description of what happens here.
THE PROCESS
From first conversation to finished piece

The Conversation
Every bespoke piece starts with a conversation — usually in person, on the Plaza, at the same workshop Simon opened in 1987. We ask what the piece is for, who it's for, what it needs to carry. Then we sketch, together.

The Design
We turn the conversation into something you can see and approve. Hand sketches first. Then a precise rendering. Nothing touches the bench until you've seen exactly what you're getting.

Sourcing the Stones
Every stone is hand-selected. Every center diamond is GIA-certified. We've spent thirty-eight years building relationships with the suppliers we trust — and we still walk away from stones that aren't right for the piece.

Forging the Metal
The band is shaped by hand at the bench. Christian learned this work from Simon, the way Simon learned it from the people who taught him. The motions don't change. They get better.

Setting the Stones
Setting is where decades of practice show. One wrong movement and a stone is lost. The hands doing this work have been doing it longer than most jewelers have been in business.

Finishing
Polish. Inspection. A final sit with the piece before it leaves the bench. We have never sent something out the door that we wouldn't be proud to put on someone we love.
What we work with
Most of what we use, we've been using since the beginning. Recycled gold, because new gold isn't worth what it costs the earth. GIA-certified diamonds, because a stone you can't verify is a story you can't tell. Colored stones from people we've known longer than we've known most of our customers.
Nothing arrives at this bench by accident. And nothing leaves it that we wouldn't put on someone we love.
