The Vinca Way
Vinca was born from a belief that jewelry can hold more than beauty—it can hold truth. Every piece begins with a story, a spark of who someone is and what they love. We shape that essence into form, creating jewelry that reveals, connects, and endures.
Watch our story
When Simon Zouein came to the United States, he carried little more than his tools, his eye, and his faith in what people and materials could become. From a single bench in Kansas City, he built Vinca one piece at a time, guided by the belief that beauty made with care has the power to last, to move, to mean something.
With his wife and co-founder, Elizabeth, he shaped more than jewelry. Together they built a place grounded in integrity and imagination, where craft and character are inseparable. The relationships Simon established with small, family-run mines in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Tanzania, Indonesia, Australia, and beyond continue to shape the way we work today.
Each stone and each design holds a history, unearthed at its origin, chosen with care, and set in our studio to reflect the person who will wear it.
Today, the next generation designs with that same conviction, carrying forward Vinca’s heritage of craft, creativity, and care into a new era of artistry.
Our History
Inspired by their desire to make handcrafted, quality fine jewelry available to more people, Simon and Elizabeth open the doors at Kansas City's Country Club Plaza.
We hire our first on-site jeweler-craftsman, working alongside Simon to bring custom designs to life in house.
Simon makes the first of many visits to the opal mines of Central Australia, establishing an important direct-from-the-source relationship.
Tu joins the team as Store Manager, taking our approach to customer care to new levels. She continues as a pillar of the Vinca experience today.
The family craft is passed on to Simon and Elizabeth's 13-year-old son. Christian soon learns to cast gold and designs his first pieces.

Simon and his son Christian are invited to the exclusive Annual Tahiti Black Pearl market. They spend six days watching the harvest, before selecting the natural black pearls that will go on to feature in many of Vinca’s signature pieces.
Simon makes his first trip to Tanzania, creating a connection that still yields our tanzanite stones today.
Our first original holiday card lands in our customers' mailboxes. So begins a tradition that continues to this day.
We visit Sri Lanka, starting our first relationship with a ruby mine.
We make our first trip to Madagascar, now the source of our unique sapphire collection
Vinca jewelry becomes available to customers all around the world.
